Preparing the texture
The first thing all make-up artists do is to heat 1 or 2 dots of foundation on the back of their hand before applying. This avoids applying too much to the face and makes the foundation easier to smooth over the skin.
Preparing the texture
The first thing all make-up artists do is to put the foundation on the back of their hand before applying. In this way they get just the right amount on the sponge and can get rid of any excess.
The right amount
For a fresh natural look we recommend you apply the foundation gradually: start with a small amount and you can always add to it if necessary.
This avoids applying too much foundation to your face and wasting the product.
Avoid a mask effect
Once you have applied the foundation to your face, don't forget to blend it delicately out towards the neck, ears and, why not, the eyelids, especially if you don't wear eye shadow.
Natural look guaranteed
A tip if you are using a brush or sponge: don't apply product to both sides. That way you can apply with one side and blend with the other for a subtle look.
Longer lasting finish
There is nothing like a dusting of powder to set your foundation for hours on end. However don't forget to tap it onto the back of your hand before applying to avoid that overly made-up look.
Using a powder puff will give a slightly more sophisticated result than a brush.
The perfect light
Light should come from face on rather than from behind or above. The illuminated mirrors you find in stars'dressing rooms are best.
Why apply a base?
A pretty complexion always begins with a good moisturiser. Using the correct moisturiser for your skin type (dry, combination, oily) will mean your foundation lasts longer.
For the perfect result, apply Effet Miracle Primer after your moisturiser and before your make-up to smooth out fine lines and achieve a more even skin texture.
Zero shine
A dusting of powder will give your face a daylong matte finish. Tap the product on the back of your hand to remove any excess and apply slightly more to the T-zone.
If the skin is very greasy, a powder puff is better than a brush as the result will be slightly better set.
How to use a concealer
What shade of concealer? Simply the one closest to your shade of foundation. Heat it on the back of your hand and then apply it onto any imperfections; use a gentle tapping action for total cover or strokes for a more transparent application.
Instant glow
Used just after your foundation and powder, a blush brightens the complexion. Applied from the temples towards the cheeks, it lifts the face. If applied from the top of the cheekbones towards the temple, it adds a burst of freshness to the complexion.
For the most natural result, dip the brush in a little loose powder before dipping it in the colour: the blush will be nicely muted before application.
An added touch of radiance
Mixed with your foundation, Eclat Miracle Illuminator Serum gives you an even more radiant complexion.
After you have applied your foundation you can also apply little dabs of the serum to the dome of your forehead, the bridge of your nose, your eyebrows and your cupid's bow to emphasise your facial contours.
Bronzed look
Bronzing powder is not used to fix your foundation but to create a beautiful bronzed look...
There are two ways you can apply it: either a fine dusting over the whole face to add a touch of warmth to your complexion or simply apply to your facial curves (forehead, nose, chin, cheek bones) for that natural bronzed look you get after a day in the sun.
